There I was, minding my own business on Twitter, tweeting about swim lessons that afternoon, when out of no where, Baby Banz pops up and offers to send me their newest product to review, their UV Swim Goggles. This is perfect I thought, the kiddo hates, hates, hates getting water in his eyes in swim class. Yet he hasn’t figure out how to close his eyes when I dunk him under, no matter how often I encourage him to do so. He also hasn’t figured out that you need to blow out, not drink in, when blowing bubbles. One hurdle at a time.
I received the sample and it can in the cutest blue plastic packaging. I’m a sucker for unusual packaging, and this one was right up my alley. It was a translucent tube with a top that twists and slides off. I’m sure that doesn’t make any sense, so here’s a photo that will help.

Inside this cool package were a pair of bright blue goggles, which the kiddo immediately put on. He even had to ride them on his “rocka, rocka” giraffe. Before I even took the stickers off. He was that excited about them.

I wasn’t sure if he would actually keep them on during swim lessons. They day we tried the out, I was really hoping the novelty of them hadn’t worn off. Thankfully it hadn’t. He wore them like a champ. And I’m happy to report that they fit snug and seemed comfortable. They didn’t slide off his face or seem to pull or get caught in his hair. Most importantly, they didn’t fill with water! The kiddo could finally be dunked under and look around til his heart’s content. Or until his lungs fill with water because he hasn’t figured out the whole holding-your-breath-under-water thing. No worries, I only leave him under for a second or two.
Product Features
- Ages 3+ (although with a little strap tightening they fit my 21 month old just fine)
- Available in Pink and Blue with matching case
- 100% UV Protective Lenses
- Soft Silicon eyecups and strap
- Anti-fogging system
- 2 nose piece extensions for a custom fit
The only thing I saw that could use some improvement, is that the goggles did leave some pretty red marks around the kiddos eyes after he took them off. But I’m not sure that there’s really a way around that one. If the goggles didn’t fit that tightly, water would seep in.
