This weekend was rare. So rare that this is the first time it’s happened in at least 2 years. So rare that I didn’t even recognize it at first. So rare that I wasn’t even sure what to do with it.
I have an entire weekend to myself.
No kiddo. No Dad-oo. Just me, the dogs and plenty of time on my hands. So what did I do? Here are the 10 ten things that I did.
- Shopping!!!! Yes, all 4 exclamation points are necessary. This included 45 hours of shopping in 2.5 inch heels. Ouch. I could hardly walk after, but it was totally worth it.
- Order Chinese Take-Out One of my fave go-to meals. Kung Pao Tofu with Crab Rangoon. I would eat this every day if I could.
- Catch Up on the #savvyblogging Twitter party (thanks to with Purpose for her recap) I learned a lot. Mostly I’m doing a pretty decent job so far, but I needed some ideas to increase readers. Like participating in blog carnivals and memes. Just like this one over at Oh Amanda.
- Have a Big Old Glass of Wine I had no where to drive and no little one to look after. Mmmmmmmmm.
- Try Out Yoga on Wii Fit
(thumbs down). Of course, that was after I found the disk tucked away under the record player. The kiddo’s favorite hiding place.
- Get Up Early to Hit the Gym Then hit sleep a few times. Finally turn the alarm off and just sleep.
- Make Pizza with my MomAdvice-inspired homemade pizza dough, complete with homemade pizza sauce and pomegranate BBQ sauce.
- Spend Some Quality Bonding Time with a Long-Lost Friend Well, not really lost, but someone who I never seem to spend enough time with.
- Minor Home Repairs, cleaning, organizing and other necessities that I just can’t seem to get done when the family is around.
- Let Myself be Lazy. Or as lazy and I can be. Which means running around the house until I’m too exhausted to do anything else.
What would you do with a free weekend?

Sounds like a blast! Those moments alone are so precious! I definitely took them for granted before my baby was born.
Glad you got some time for yourself!

@Christine, I don’t think anyone realized how little time you have after kids. If we did, we’d sure have taken more advantage of it.
Yup, that sounds like my list. Especially the Let Myself Be Lazy bit!
@Mrs Soup, It was so nice, no agenda, no schedule to keep. I could just do what I wanted to do.
Sounds like a lovely time! Especially that turning off the alarm and sleeping thing!
Thanks so much for linking up!

@oh amanda, That was probably the best part! You never feel better than after a long, uninterrupted night of sleep.
It has been so long I’m not exactly sure what I would do, but I’m pretty sure it would involve a lot of time relaxing in bed and eating lots of Oreo cookies.

@Charlotte, mmm, Oreo’s sound so good right now. I might have to pick some up this weekend.
making pizza is always nice…eating it is even better! YUM!
@Shay Lee, That’s the best part of making pizza. Totally pigging out once it’s done.
Wholly cow you packed a lot in a weekend! But good for you! Don’t we all deserve it every once in awhile? Super fun list, now I want a weekend to myself!
