Bubble Chocolate Review and Giveaway

by Allison @ Alli 'n Son on February 9, 2010

I don’t know if you know this about me or not, but I kind of like chocolate. Actually, I think I’m in love with it. Don’t be surprised if some day this blog goes silent. Not worries, I’ve just run off with the love of my life. Chocolate. MMMmmmmmmm, chocolate.

Now that I’m past my 30 day no sweets challenge (which I’m so glad that I did), I’m allowing myself to indulge a little. Well, maybe during the first week, I indulged too much. To the point where I thought I had crossed the point of no return and I would have to live on chocolate and sweets for the rest of my life. Thankfully, I’m back to a slightly more normal eating schedule.

Anyway, this is not about my overactive sweet tooth. This is about a little piece of heaven that I was just introduced to. It’s called Bubble Chocolate, and it’s my new love. Just in time for Valentine’s Day.

This delightful little chocolate bar is like eating bubbles wrapped in chocolate (it’s true, they say so on their web site!). It’s like no chocolate that I’ve ever enjoyed before. And I’m not just saying that. I swear.

When you pop these little nuggets into your mouth, you have to keep one thing in mind: eat it slowly, let it melt in your mouth, to really and truly enjoy the full bubble affect. It’s almost like mini chocolate explosions in your mouth. In a good way.

My first reaction when trying the dark chocolate was, huh, that’s strange. But I think I like it. A few more bites later and I was really enjoying the bubble sensation. Even Dad-oo got a kick out of it. And even though I’m totally a dark chocolate girl (unless there’s no other option and it’s a chocolate emergency) I found the milk chocolate to be pretty enjoyable too. Bubbles + chocolate = a party in my mouth. Seriously.

Bubble Chocolate is available in a delicious 60% dark chocolate (my personal fave) which features 60% cacao, a natural source of flavanol antioxidants (that good-for-you stuff found in green tea and berries). The smooth and creamy milk chocolate is great for any chocolate lover, both young and not-so-young. You really can’t go wrong with either flavor.

So how exactly do they get the bubbles in there? Well, they “first, [infuse] the bubbles throughout the chocolate at just the right time and temperature, followed by molding and cooling the chocolate so that the bubbly structure remains inside while a smooth outer shell is formed.” Why fill chocolate with bubbles (why not)? Is the chocolate all natural (of course)? What is the best way to store Bubble Chocolate? Find the answers to these, and all of your bubble chocolate-related questions here on their FAQ page.

Need a Perfect Valentine’s Day Gift?

Pop on over to Bubble Chocolate to place your order or use the store locator to find a store near you that carries Bubble Chocolate.
