If you are a child from the 90s, you know where I’m going with this. Sex. Yes, sex. *blush*
So, if you are one of my parents, in-laws or other family member you might want to just pass on by.
OK, anyone left? Let’s move on.
Today’s topic over at Momalom is Lust. A beautiful, soft, sensual word, often turned dirty, negative and well, just plain icky.
So against my better judgment, and against my personal embarrassment scale, I’m going to dive in and join the conversation.

It’s a catch in your throat…
A whisper running down your spine…
A caress lingering on your back…
A bottle of silky red wine…
A looking begging, pleading, wanting…
A barely audible sigh breaking a silent room…
Soft, kisses, exploring, discovering, enjoying…
A heart beat galloping away…
Holding…
Grabbing…
!!!…
Falling into one another…
In love…
In beauty…
In commitment.
Lust is wanting, desiring, needing, trusting out of pure love. Or at least, that’s what lust means to me.

Commitment. It just makes it so much better doesn’t it?

@Christine LaRocque, It really does. The closeness is unlike anything else.
Beautiful! Amazing! Lust-filled!

@Nicki, Aww, thank you!
Ahhh…. love it. And want to get me some of that. Beautifully, perfectly said.

Beautiful!
Great post on lust! You’re brave to banish the parents and inlaws and go for it!
.-= Amy at Never-True Tales´s last blog ..Sunday morning is for lovers…if by lovers, you mean oatmeal, Sponge Bob, rashes, emails, and church =-.
@Amy at Never-True Tales, Brave, or stupid? I’m not sure which one yet.
So glad you went against better judgement and braved the embarrassment. I, too, believe lust and love belong in the same sentence.
@rebecca, Love just makes it better doesn’t it?
Very well said. I have yet to write my blog post and was reading others to get ideas. I love this. You’re a wonderful writer.

@Yvette Francino, Thank you! That means a lot.
ok. I applaud you for writing about lust. Really writing about lust. Everyone else seems to be dancing around it.
You wrote about in a perfect poem. Beautiful and not sleazy.
Perfect Post
As your comment button says…”SAY IT!” and you did
@Terry, Thanks! Lust should be beautiful, not sleazy. At least that’s what I think.
You are much braver than I. I had to stretch today’s post so I wouldn’t embarrass myself. Not that this is embarrassing, in any way. It’s actually rather tender and sweet.
.-= C @ Kid Things´s last blog ..Elmo Lust =-.
@C @ Kid I’m actually still surprised that I had the guts to post it. Bravest thing I’ve done in a while.
You really stayed true to the subject matter. I wasn’t brave enough to venture there, especially since my whole family reads my blog. Loved it and how you circled around to love at the end!
@Rudri, I know, my family reads mine too. Hence the warning at the beginning. Not that it really will stop anyone from reading it though…
This is lovely. And lusty! >.>
.-= Jenn M´s last blog ..A Kiss =-.
@Jenn M, Lusty. That’s a great word!
Beautiful. What I like about this poem is that I found myself nodding in agreement, and yet, when I sat down to write my own post on lust (which I still haven’t written it) my original inclination was to define it as the opposite of love, whereas you’ve tied it to love. I like the way you see it. Makes it so much less icky! Glad you found me so i could find you!!
@Lauren @ Embrace the detour, Actually, when I first sat down to write, I was going to do the same thing. Focus on the negative icky side. Some where this post was hidden and it just kind of happened.
Yes…into committment.
.-= Alisha´s last blog ..Lust not, want not =-.
@Alisha, Commitment really is the key isn’t it?
Wait…??…

I thought you were talking about a Dove bar!
.-= sheila´s last blog ..Out of the kitchen, into the ground.Monday Garden Club =-.
@sheila, oh, this works for a Dove bar too. Definitely.
That was beautiful. And definitely worth the potential embarrassment!
.-= amber´s last blog ..Things to Remember: Part Four. =-.
@amber, Thanks Amber!
OH YES! This IS the lust post. Love that list. And the !!! you worked in – nice job.
I agree with you. Being in lust with the person you’re committed with is a wonderful thing.
.-= Justine´s last blog ..My favorite hunk of meat =-.
@Justine, Thanks Justine. I truly think that commitment is what turns lust into a beautiful thing.
Great description. I think it is only natural for everyone to have some sort of lust at some point and time in ones life.
Excellent post
@soccermom, I totally agree. We wouldn’t be human without a little lust in our lives.
Thank you for diving right in! And I love your definition of lust. Without pure love, lust consumes us and leaves nothing but ashes in its wake. Lust out of pure love feeds us, builds up us and our relationship, bonding us, making us stronger.

.-= alita´s last blog ..Yes, I’m on a mission. =-.
Oh yes. Commitment. It changes it all. In the dearest of ways.
I adore this little list-y poem. The sigh breaking the silence of a room. The whisper down the back. It conjures up some lust, lusty thoughts and feelings, that’s for sure.
And yes…I know I am late late late in getting here…can you believe I am STILL catching up on Five for Ten? Oh my word….
Oh, one more thing. You get a !!! for including the !!! Totally awesome. Come to our place tomorrow for a little !!! inspiration. Maybe, just maybe, you’ll want to join in.
