A Stroll

by Allison @ Alli 'n Son on May 27, 2010

Earlier this week we had a brief break from the uncharacteristically hot, steamy May weather (we’re talking over 90º). Desperate to get out of the house, and thinking that the worst of the day had passed, the kiddo and I packed up the camera, a sippy cup full of ice cold water, sun screen and a package of graham crackers and headed out to see what we could find in the neighborhood, as we made our way to the park.

When we set out, I asked the kiddo to help me find interesting things to take photos of. Then, I got down on his level, to see exactly what he was seeing.

We saw trees,  flowers and grass…

The river, more flowers and interesting textures…

Baseball fields and porta-potties…

[singlepic id=388 w=450]

A playground, drinking fountains, and airplanes…

[singlepic id=389 w=450]

But the fun didn’t really begin until the kiddo was out of the stroller…

As it turned out the cool weather was short lived. Halfway through our explorations, the sun, humidity and heat returned.

Leaving one little boy a sticky, sweaty mess.

Have you gone exploring with your children? Let them take the lead with the camera? What did you discover?

Great pics! Your kiddo is so cute!
My daughter (5 year-old) loves to take pictures. She has her own camera and I love to go through them to see what she’s captured. Most times it is either herself or she ‘poses’ her babies!

@ShannonL, We gave the kiddo a camera for his birthday too. But he managed to delete the first batch that he took before we saw them. Once we get a good batch, I’ll be posting those too.

Oh my! He’s getting so big!

Great pictures, Allison, especially the dandelion shots. They are so hard to capture if it’s breezy!

Those are such fun pictures! I especially like that your park has character (I can tell by the “press box” at the ball field.) After a second glance at your son’s shirt, I was all “Hey! I’ve seen that guy play!” We love our “Huntsville Stars” and hate to see them go, but we’re also glad when they make it to “The Show.”
