Do you remember petting zoos? Filled with exotic animals from all over the world. Animals that you could never see in your own back yard. Animals that don’t mind being picked up, touched, cuddled.
Oh wait, those are the petting zoos in my head The real things are much less exciting.
Bunnies. Kittens. Ducklings and Ducks. Cows. Goats. Chicks and Chickens. These are the things our petting zoos are made of.

But it turns out that petting zoos aren’t supposed to delight me.

They are supposed to delight little boys.

And delight him it did.

I do love that. Seeing old things with new eyes gives me an appreciation for things that I have been taking for granted.

@Sarah, That’s one of the best parts of having kids isn’t it?
Cool photos, I love the finishing on them. Did you edit them in Photoshop?
@tyne, I do use Photoshop. Coffee Shop has a ton of great tutorials.

I’m can see that he had the best time! I do love seeing stuff like this again, through my children’s eyes. It just makes it all the more special…
@Elaine, It really does. Kind of like a second childhood, only we’re already potty trained.
My kids just love the petting zoo… and don’t tell them, but I love going, too! My son loves to see donkeys & miniature horses.
@Owen’s Mom, I would have loved seeing those! Sadly, the largest animal they had was a baby cow. I think we just need to find a better petting zoo.
What lovely memories. Petting zoos are so delightful (for the kiddos). I love the effect you have on your photos, too. Looks great!
Yes! That’s one of my favorite reasons of being a mom – looking at old things through new eyes.
I see the familiar red barrier here that are like the ones we encountered from when we attended a fair with a little petting zoo section. In fact, I used the pics on this post: http://www.herewhereihavelanded.com/2010/05/18-months-baby.html
Children and animals together is always quite a sight isn’t it? Love the effects you used for these pictures too.
It is fun to see things through our kids eyes. Its also great to see life through your camera lense, your pics are great!
There is a petting zoo near Menominee, MI that has tigers, bears and other exotic animals! We have not been there, but Nick has a couple of friends who go there all the time.
The photos look great! Looks like lots of fun!
Thanks for linking up!
