There’s just something about searching for those sparkling moments, making them intentional, that makes them pop out each week. Even if it’s a good week, or a nothing-too-special week, these moments just make it something to remember. You know?
Moment 1
[singlepic id=466 w=450]
He shoots…he scores! Kind of. If the basket ball actually fit in the hoop. And if the hoop didn’t blow over at the slightest wind. But still, it counts.
Moment 2
[singlepic id=467 w=450]
We had a crap load of rain this week and last weekend (boo…rained out fireworks). So we have some new species taking root in the backyard. As you can see, they were greatly enjoyed.
Moment 3
[singlepic id=468 w=450]
Have I mentioned that the kiddo likes balls? Actually loves. In a possibly unhealthy way. Or in just typical 2 year old boy fashion.
All I can say is that there is some sort of sport in his future. Or possibly every sport. Or he will really invent a sport called “basegolf”. Either way, he’ll better support me when he’s a bajillionaire (yes, that is a real word).
Moment 4
[singlepic id=469 w=450]
Exploring a new park, in the full on sun, on a perfect summer morning, that I was oh so thankful for.
Moment 5
Guest posting over at Here Where I Have Landed. I just love guest posting. Especially when it’s about my favorite topic, raising a boy.
Moment 6
And finally, my bigger picture moment of the week. After a phone call that I was expecting, finding joy is someone else’s happiness, even if it’s amidst my own struggles. Learning to trust that my time will come, that somethings are out of my control, and learning (yet again) to focus on all of the important things in my life. Those things that I’m most thankful for.
What were your sparkling moments this week?

I love the way you captured these!
I love these photographs. I love that they are crooked and off-center – it adds so much to the whimsical mood.
Cheers,
Anne
@Anne, Thanks! Most of my photos are like that, much more interesting than straight on.
What cute moments you captured!
I’m jealous of the rain! We haven’t had any rain in a few months here. UGH
@debi9kids, That was us too, zero rain, then a solid week of it. It’s all or nothing here.
@Allison, apparently, we are getting that rain now
Oh how I love your sparkle moments! And that boy? He is just squooooshy in my book.
@Cecily R, He is a cutie, isn’t he? Although I may be biased.
I love the way you capture such special, simple moments!
@Martianne, Thank you! I love blogging, it really makes me focus on what we do each day.
I’m glad you can find joy in someone else’s happiness, even when it has to sting a little. ((hugs))
@TheKitchenWitch, It’s hard, but she deserves the happiness, so that makes it easier.
I LOVE the pictures you captured of those moments. Like really love them.
@angie, Thanks Angie!
Love you!
@Lindsey, Love you too. And I’m truly happy for you guys.
Looks like a good week, all in all
Your photographs are beautiful. What a spunky lil guy
@Jessica Dallas, Spunky is the right word for him!
Allison, your action shots are amazing! He seems like such a fun little guy. And adorable to boot.
@Justine, Thanks Justine! He’s a ball full of energy, that’s for sure.
He is a cutie!!! I have 3 boys, so I know exactly what you mean about the ball obsession
They’re all over my house.
@Nicole, Yea, I can hardly walk without kicking on through the house. At least they don’t hurt when you step on them.
What a little athlete–so cute! (And yes, the shot totally counts!)
@Jo@Mylestones, I’m pretty sure that he’s going to be in every sport possible in high school. Do I smell college scholarship? I sure hope so.
what great moments you captured and I love the angles you did. I love how different boys are from girls.
@Amy, They are so different aren’t they? Yet they all go through the same stages too. Like crazy tantrums. And potty training. Ugh.
I love your photo vignettes, rich with colour but also emotion. You do a great job of capturing the sparkle in the moment.
And I’m thinking of you and the “news” you received. You’ll get there my friend! We’re rooting for you.
@Christine LaRocque, Thanks Christine, your kind words always bring a smile to my face.
We have fascinations with ball sports, too!
Love how you captured the sparking moments.
Love the “take that” shot of his foot and the shroom!
@Carrie Keiser, That was a total accident too. I was trying to get the photo before he kicked it, but he was just too quick for me.
Awesome photos. And I LOVE basegolf. Sometimes we play kayakpaddle-ball over here.
I love reading about other boy mamas and their escapades. Love.
@Elizabeth @claritychaos, How exactly do you play kayakpaddle-ball? It sounds fantastic.
@Elizabeth @claritychaos, P.S. I’m a WI blogger too!
I HAD to come and take a look, and yes, your boy is ADORABLE.
Let’s pimp both of them and retire!
@Ofthesea, Perfect. Let’s do it. I have a couple of pimp jackets that we can us.
