Chic Click Carnival

by Allison @ Alli 'n Son on July 18, 2010

This morning I was minding my own business, reading some blogs and generally wasting time before we needed to go pick up the kiddo from Granpa’s house, and I discovered the Chic Click Carnival. And of course I added it to my rapidly growing list of bloggy things to do.

A little about me

I’m a stay-at-home mom struggling to be OK with this title. Don’t get me wrong, I love staying at home. It was my choice to stay at home, and I don’t regret a moment of it. But I just didn’t realize that I would be losing part of my identity by staying at home, the part that made me feel professional and like I was contributing to the world. I know, I know, like raising a child isn’t contributing? Or course it is. But some days, I just need more, something that is just mine. You know what I mean?

I have a wonderful, energetic and stubborn 2 year old boy who is the light of my life. Raising him has been more challenging and even more wonderful than I ever imagined it could be, even as we find our way successfully (usually) through potty training. We’re hoping to be adding to our family soon, but my struggle with infertility (thank goodness I know have some answers) means this journey is taking longer than expected.

To pass the time, I blog about life with my son, share recipes and my weekly Thank You Journal. I’m also a bit of a photo bug and love to show off my photos. Wordless/WordFUL Wednesday (hosted by Seven Clown Circus) and Give Me Your Best Shot (hosted by Better in Bulk) are some of my favorite bloggy days of the week.

A little about you

Through the Visit our Peeps widget (see below) I discovered the Family Traditions blog. I just love the 100 ways to enjoy your summer and keep your family busy (ways 11-15, ways 6-10, ways 1-5). I know where I’m going next time I need to plan a weekend activity.

That’s a bit about myself, but I’d love to know more about you. Please sit back, grab a cup of coffee (I’m drinking a raspberry mocha) and introduce yourself. While you are here, I hope you will subscribe so we can stay in touch.

I love that picture of you two! So much fun!! I did the chic click carnival yesterday, too. :) I feel like you and I stalk each other all over the internet. You know, in a good way. :)

This is such a cute picture of you guys. I also struggle with the label of “stay-at-home” mom. Now, I am stay-at-home with part-time teaching job mom, but mostly, I’m home. I used to have issues with the mere idea, but now that I have a second kid, those are gone. Two kids are hard, woman! (Be forewarned.) I am busy enough during the day that I know deep down this is the best place for me right now. And you are contributing to the world! I’m going to try that waffle recipe I just read!

@Jana @ Attitude Adjustment, Being busy does help. I’ve been wondering what it’s like to have 2 kids. It’s already exhausting with just the one.
