Dad-oo works about 30 minutes away from home, 5 days a week. Which means that once he’s left in the morning, we more than likely won’t see him again until the end of the work day. Which, on the days that I work my part time job, means 7:45 at night. That’s a long time for a little boy to go without seeing his Dad-oo.
Which makes summer picnics, all the more special.

Few things in life warm my heart like seeing the excitement in the kiddo’s eyes at seeing his Dad-oo.
P.S. I’m looking for guest posters for my weekly Thank You Journal. Interested? Let me know!

That is so sweet! When Fynn was born Lucas worked down the street and we’d take stroller walks to see him. He’s been at his new job, about 45 minutes away, for almost three years. And I’m still sad about it, even though he loves his job so much more. Daddy time is so special
@Corinne, It really is. On weekends I kind of have a hands off approach and let Dad-oo take over a little more. Gives them some extra time together, and gives me a much needed break.
That is such a sweet shot!
Oh I so love pics of Dads and their little guys! So adorable!
i love pics with daddy!!!!
Awww, those moments are so sweet!
Special summer pictures really are the best.
Summer pictures really are the best!
Summer picnics with dad sound marvelous. Dumb Dad works an hour and fifteen minutes, by car, minus traffic, from us. The Dudes have never even been to his office. It’s sad, but it’s necessary. Stinks most for him which I try to remember when he’s complaining about his commute for hours after he gets home!
@Dumb Mom, I think it’s hard on Dad-oo too, especially the days he doesn’t see the kiddo before he leaves for work, and then only has 15 minutes before bedtime at night. Such is life.
Nobody brings the smiles quite like Daddy. Adorable.
I so feel you. My husband works an hour away, but thankfully he only works four days a week. We really take advantage of his three days off since we don’t get to do much family stuff during the week!
@Tiffany@LattesAndLife, When I was working, I had a 3 day weekend too. It was the only thing that kept me sane when the kiddo was in day care. I bet it’s amazing to have him home for 3 days.
Yes, time with “Dad-oo” is MOST important and cherished. Love the pic!
Little boys and their dad-o are a great combo. Maybe you will come read my WW post.

Little Miss screeches happiness when she sees her dad. It’s always a beautiful reunion. And yes, gotta love picnics in the summer. Delicious in every way.

@Candice, I’m so glad that you stopped by! I hope you’ll visit again soon.
A great picture! My husband works an hour and a half away. By the time he gets home and we eat dinner, there’s no time for anything else besides bed. That’s why the weekends to us are so important.
@C @ Kid Things, Us too. Weekends are usually just family time. So important.
How cute!
Thanks for linking up!
