Sparkling Moments

by Allison @ Alli 'n Son on July 22, 2010

It’s Friday (or Thursday night, whatever). Here’s a rundown of my week, and it’s sparkling moments.

I’ve come to the conclusion that I’m pretty darn good baker. I may even go pro one day. I mean, just look how the kiddo gulped down his banana muffin.

I’ve also realized that the kiddo has an exceptionally bright future ahead of him. Phew, that’s a weight off my shoulders.

Whether it be a quarter back for the Packers (no pressure)…

…or an starving artist.

All I can say, is if he’s an artist, he better marry rich. And if he’s a quarter back, he better send some of that dough our way.

Finally, this convo with the kido:

Kiddo: You’re not a girl momma!

Me: Yes I am, I’m a girl, or a lady.

Kiddo: NO, you’re not (can you just hear the snottiness in that answer).

Me: I’m not? What am I?

Kiddo: You’re just a momma, Momma!

No wonder I’m having an identity crisis.

Well, at least you get to be a momma. Dude #2 campaigned yesterday to get all of the other Dudes to call me Benji, not momma. So, yeah, I guess I’m a heroic small dog?!

@Dumb Mom, Point taken! I’d rather be a momma than a small dog. Even if he is heroic.

Better Momma-Momma than Grouchy-Momma…which is what I’ve been lately. Maybe he’ll become a professional muffin eater. Looks like he’s on his way…

kids are so funny! Scott said something very similar to his daddy about me the other day!

@Carrie Keiser, Funny yes, but I think it’s important for them to see us as something other than just a momma. I guess it’s our job to teach them that.

Hi Allison
Thanks for popping over to my blog. Sorry it has taken me a while to pop over to yours – so happy I’m here now. Wanted to give myself time to have a good look around. Your little boy is just beautiful and I love how you capture those special moments. I have a two year old daughter and everyday she inspires me – just wish I had your photography skills! Will pop over again soon to admire more of your photos and check out some recipes :-)

@Laura, Thank you Laura! I’m so glad that you made it over. I hope you will stop by again soon, I do have some fantastic recipes. Check out the beer batter pizza dough, one of my favorites.

That conversation was certainly one of the sparkling moments a parent would have.

I found you from SITS/31DBBB Day 7 :-) I have had this same conversation with both of my boys. I find it so interesting that we are such a huge focus for our children, that would couldn’t possibly be anything other than MOMMY.

Your blog is lovely and the recipe page is a treat!

Love these photos — great moments! I think my youngest kid channels your kid at least once a day when it comes to whether I get to be an actual person or not. This morning she told me I must be a puppy because I’m hairy. Yeah, my self esteem took a small hit with that one!
