This is why…
I don’t always return phone calls in a timely manor.
Answer my phone during nap time.
I’m always, always late.
This article describes so perfectly what it’s like to be a stay-at-home mom. This is why I’m so utterly exhausted at the end of each day. I just had to share.
Thanks Jen, for sharing this with me!

What’s your excuse for not returning phone calls? What do you do during nap time? Are you ever on time and if so, how do you manage it?

It’s a good article!
You bet! It feels good to be validated doesn’t it?
@jennifer johnson, It really, really does.
Granted, I’m only a stay-at-home during school vacations, but we are usually on time. I think the only way it happens thus far is by not packing our days too full. That way I’m not too busy worrying about what’s next all the time. I also try to keep the bag ready to go at all times, that way I don’t have to search for all of the things we need when it is time to leave. It works for us, might not work next summer when Little Man is 2 though!
@Angie, I think part of our problem is trying to cram too much stuff in a day. That and trying to get myself ready and the kiddo ready at the same time is nearly impossible. I need to just be OK with not showering before I leave the house. Haven’t mastered that yet.
Stopping by from 31DBBB.
Great Article- Thanks for sharing!
I never get done everything I need to.
@Making It Work Mom, I always wonder, if I did get everything done, what would I do? Be really bored I bet.
Thanks for stopping by!
Being a stay-at-home mom is the most difficult, but most rewarding job ever!
@Genny, It sure is. That’s something you can never really appreciate until you’ve tried it.
Is that REAL? Did someone actually ask that question? Wow.
Well, at least she gave ‘em a good answer!
p.s. During nap time I usually eat something, fold a load of laundry, unload the dishwasher, possibly shower and maybe tweet a little. On only ONE of mine naps.
@Elaine, I’m dreading the day my son stops napping. Seriously, I don’t know how I’ll keep my sanity.
And you are much more productive during nap time than I am.
OH! I LOVE it! I am going to have to share this with friends
WOW love, love, love her answer! Very spot on and true.
@Maureen, Doesn’t it make you feel better, just knowing that there are SO many reasons we’re so busy?
Great article! Thanks for sharing! I am now following your blog by the way!

@Jessica, I’m glad you are a new follower. Welcome!
No kidding!! Even my mom asks me what I do all day, and gripes that I’m not so quick to return calls. This sums it up perfectly – great find!
@LZ, It is perfect isn’t it? I could never really put into words what I do all day, and why I can’t get more done. I need to keep a copy of this in my purse so I can just pull it out when someone asks me.
Finally. I hope the right people see this… now I need to do one on being a SAHM homeschooling mom. Talk about every minute flying out the window…
@Alexandra, Oh man, I have so much respect for homeschooling moms. I could never do it.
Im a working MOM, and i swear my weekends are WAY harder that my workdays, i love my children but they do need 24/7 attention, is a JOY but a really hard one, i only have MOM friends now, most single girls dont really get this.
@Meike, “a JOY but a really, really, hard one”. Exactly my friend, exactly.
I read that on Facebook, and YES. Yesterday morning as I was hurrying to get somewhere … got lost … and ended up being 30 minutes late I was thinking about how I always hate when people are late. Am I going to become THAT person, THAT mom?
If it means I get to be at home with my littles, then, oh well.
Wow. I like Carolyn!
I don’t have kids, I have no clue what exactly it is that SAH Moms actually do all day, but I suspect it involves at least 10,947 different things that I could never even guess at this point in my life!
That was a hilarious article. Thanks for sharing!
Great Article!
Thanks for linking up!
