It’s Texture Tuesday again, the day of the week I share with you my latest photo, inspired by Kim Klassen and her lovely textures.
This week’s challenge was to use the yesteryear texture. I couldn’t help but think that these tulips, dropping under the weight of a Spring shower, were just perfect for it.
Photoshop Layers
- Signature/watermark
- Pink fill, overlay blending mode, 31% opacity
- Ivory fill, color blending mode, 75% opacity
- yesteryear texture, soft light blending mode, 100% opacity
- Levels layer to add contrast to the flower
- Hue/Saturation adjustment layer to bump up saturation on the flower
- Background layer: Photo
I hope you have been enjoying my Texture Tuesday photos and tutorials. I intend continue unless I hear from you guys that you don’t want to see them anymore. Really, I want feedback, if you love it or hate it. I just want to know.

This is just gorgeous!
Thank you Danelle!
Goodness! simply lovely! The tulips dried out on me this spring
This matches your theme perfectly too! Love the water droplets as well!
Thanks Mirage! With our super cold spring I didn’t think ours would make it either, but they surprised me.
Visiting from Texture Tuesday…first time visitor! Your photo of the tulip is spectactular! dreamy! and wow! As a fairly “newbie” to Photoshop, I, for one appreciate seeing your layers palette..or pallete [newer to spelling too...ha!]
Thank you for the feedback! I’m glad you found the tutorial helpful. I hope you’ll stop by again soon.
How lovely.. and thank you for sharing the recipe as well!
I love it, great edit and water drops makes it even more beautiful:)
Greetings from Finland
Oh my!! What an AMAZING shot!! And the texture work is incredible! I love this!! WOW!
Lovely job, and I do appreciate the steps you took to get it. I have learned so much by observing what others do and how they do it, with their processing. I love the after-rain effect.
