I have to admit, I suck at using screw drivers, especially the electric ones. I place the screw on the wall, turn the screw driver on, but instead of making a hole in the wall the screw just does crazy circles in place. I just can’t figure the freaking thing out.
Hammers and nails. Sure I can handle those. If I’m the only one in the house and something just has to be hanging on the wall at that exact moment in time.
Don’t get me started on saws. If I even look at one, I’m liable to lose a thumb. Or the dogs a tail.
It’s a good thing I have two strong and capable men in my life to deal with the “men’s work” around the house.
Don’t worry, I paid them handsomely with baked goods. *sigh* I feel like I’m living in the 1950′s all of a sudden.

Boys and their toys
I “joke” to my husband that I married him 1/3 out of love, 1/3 for his short last name, and 1/3 for his mechanical abilities. I mean, if I’m fair, the fact that he changes my oil and works on my car makes me love him!
He works on your car? That alone make him worth marrying.
I love that picture AND the quote. And who cares if it feels 1950′s…do what you’re good at.
Exactly! I’ll take baking over fixing things any day.
that is such a nice father and son bonding moment
What an adorable pic! Such helpful, handy guys.
love moments like this
He’s concentrating so hard! One good reason to have boys… (although there are more of course!)
Fixing stuff and yard work, those are the major perks to boys, aren’t they?
Thanks for dropping by the whimsical wife! Love your blog and the picture of your son is gorgeous!
Thanks Melissa! I’m glad you stopped by.
Such a cute picture!
thats what I am talking about, Get the men to do it. I can hammer and drill with the best of them but I always let on that I can’t so I don’t have to do the dirty work! Much rather be in the kitchen! LOL!
I do that with lifting heavy boxes. Although being gigantically pregnant is a pretty good excuse too.
Some days, I think the 1950s sure sound good.
Simpler, right? And separate beds isn’t *always* a bad thing.
Aww, that’s so cute!
So cute! Love watching the little guys act like big guys!
He wants to be just like his daddy. Well, that and Spiderman.
What a great picture.
