hi everyone, i’m michelle from sugarswings! serve some…just a working mom with 3 small kiddos that tries to relax and de-stress by making lots of cupcakes and other sugar creations…i’ve only been blogging for about a year and 1/2 so i am super happy to be a guest blogger for Alli, and especially for sweet tooth friday! I try to link up every week since my blog fits in really well with her theme…!
…so a couple of months ago I ran into target and found the monster cereals…(remember those old ones from when you were little…?….booberry, frankenberry, and count chocula?…well maybe it depends on when you were “little”, me being a child of the 70/80s remembers them well!)….they were on sale for cheap….needless to say i picked them all up and just stored them in my “to do” closet….
….around the same time, my mom bought all 3 kiddos ginormous chocolate bunnies for easter which i also stored away since they had a ton of easter candy already….and look how big they are–you can see my mixer in the background…and ok i give my kids sweets after they eat a good dinner, but i have to draw the line at huge dude bunnies….!
…so i decided to experiment and melt one down to try to re-use the chocolate….just break up the chocolate into a bowl and nuk for 30 secs at a time until it’s melted nicely…
….i think it took less than 2 minutes altogether…
…pour into a lined baking sheet and spread the chocolate around…and top it with the monster cereals…. then drizzle with some white chocolate on top too….
…and you have some super simple and recycled chocolate monster cereal bark….!
…thanks for reading and thanks Alli for letting me guest blog (my first time ever!)…and please go check out the great other awesome posts linked up to sweet tooth friday as well!

Lovely guest post Michelle – great idea for left over Easter candy! I have several bunnies in the freezer that will be transformed! I’ve linked up our Sweet Kebabs and Wee Peach Meringues today – thanks for hostessing. Have a great weekend at Bloggy Boot Camp – can’t wait to hear all about it
Boot camp was great! I’ll be sharing my favorite parts over the next few weeks.
Michelle,
Those look like a great idea for Halloween. Every year I buy that cereal and after a couple bowls they decide they don’t want anymore of it. I’m totally going to use the last of it on bark. Thanks!
Alli,
Thanks for hosting

I remember always wishing my mother would come home from the grocery store with a box of Count Chocula. It happened maybe 3 or 4 times my entire childhood. Mmm.. I really loved that stuff!
