Sweet Tooth Friday

by Allison @ Alli 'n Son on July 19, 2012

Welcome to Sweet Tooth Friday, a day devoted to all things sweet. Feel free to drool over today’s recipe, link up your own sweet recipes, and visit a few of the other sweet, sweet recipes shared by fellow bloggers.

I’m overflowing. With s’mores bars and vanilla bean lime cupcakes.

With dinners that need to be made.

With dishes from breakfast…lunch…dinner…life…overtaking the sink.

I’m overflowing with kids. With freelance work. With my part-time job. With blogging.

I’m overflowing with life and all of the goodness that it has to offer. With all of the amazing-ness (yes, that’s totally a word) that I’ve been blessed with.

I’m overflowing to the point of being short of breath. As the weight of life comes crushing down on me.

Responsibilities to my family. To my job. To my customers.

To myself.

Dedication to my blog.

It’s all so wonderful. It’s all so crushing.

It’s all so very overwhelming.

So I’m changing Sweet Tooth Friday. Just a bit.

Don’t get your panties in a bundle. It’s not going anywhere. And neither am I.

But I’m going to sit this one out. I’m going to let you be the stars.

By featuring the top five from the past week.

By inviting guest bloggers to share their favorite sweet recipe (Have a recipe you’d like to share? Email me, let’s talk about it).

By taking a step back and letting all of you shine.

By breathing. And letting go. And breathing. At least for now. Until I have a better handle on the life part of my life.

Or until someone volunteers to be my cook, housecleaner and laundry-doer (totally a word).

Until then, please enjoy these crazy good recipes from last week’s Sweet Tooth Friday with featured some very tasty Sea Salt and Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies.

  1. The Pastry Chef’s Baking shared A Really Good Brownie recipe, and I have to say, these look more, much, much more, than just really good. Nutella crunch topping? Yes please!
  2. The French Press (love the name, it’s the only way to make a really good cup of coffee) shared an Ice Cream Sandwich Ice Cream Cake. The possibilities on this easy cake are totally endless. And I’m not just saying that.
  3. Shaken Together shared this a drink that just about screams summer, limeade sherbet fizz. I can totally see myself, sitting on our front porch swing, glass in hand, as the stars come out and the world goes to sleep.
  4. And then, there’s this Peanut Butter Banana Coffee Milkshakes from BruCrew Life that makes me want to drink this while I’m having a quiet moment to myself (I can totally, 100% percent relate to her mood in this post).
  5. Finally, Making Memories is making me long for fall, and all of it’s apple glory. She shared Apple Fritter Bread, and I can just about see the leaves starting to turn.

All of these recipes have been Pinned and all images are property of the respective blog. I just swiped them to showcase their awesomeness.

I so totally understand what you’re going through! I was just telling my husband tonight that I’m burned out and need a weekend off. Do what you need to do to get life in balance, we’ll still be here with you!!

Just breathe – most of us are right there with you – “overflowing” with the good, bad, and the ugly.

All those pictures of chocolate is bringing on a craving! I am right there with ya in wanting a laundry doer, my 3 are old enough to fold and put it away now, but I still think it breads and multiplies overnight down in the basement.

I hope that you take the time that you need to breathe. I was going to rush and get a bunch of posts ready to do for vacation, but then I decided to let some one else do the post :) It makes all the difference to not have to worry about EVERYTHING that goes into a post.
I hope you have a super weekend!
