Sweet Tooth Friday, Recipe Link Up

by Allison @ Alli 'n Son on July 26, 2012

Welcome to Sweet Tooth Friday, a day devoted to all things sweet. Feel free to drool over today’s recipe, link up your own sweet recipes, and visit a few of the other sweet, sweet recipes shared by fellow bloggers.

I’m currently scrambling to get the last pieces of the little man’s first birthday party together. There are vanilla bean lime cupcakes to be frosted.

Sponge water balls to be made.

Apples, watermelon, strawberries, swiss cheese and salami to be sliced. It’s a Hungry Caterpillar-themed party and it just wouldn’t be complete without lots of food.

I’m doing all of this through tears, with the realization that the little man is now one. He’s not my baby any more.

While I’m baking and crying and slicing and crying (a dangerous combination, I know), I had to take a moment to share some of last week’s recipes.

Caramel Pretzel Cheesecake Brownies...Olympic Style

Caramel? Pretzels? Cheesecake? Brownies? Seriously? Seriously? These Caramel Pretzel Cheesecake Brownies…Olympic Style by the always creative and inspiring BruCrew Life has all of my very favorite ingredients smashed, drizzled and baked into a festive bars. While I’ll be cheering for the runners (how can they run so fast, for so long?) Jocelyn will be hooting for the gymnasts, I just know that we’d both be hollaring over these bars.

We’d probably have to make two batches though, as I’m pretty sure neither of us would share.

The Top Five

  1. Need a peanut butter fix? You can get it with Nutter Butter Stuffed Cupcakes with Rich Peanut Butter Frosting from The Mandatory Mooch.
  2. You can’t for wrong with classic, especially when chocolate is involved. I Was Born to Cook proved that with this Classic Diner-Style Chocolate Pie.
  3. I don’t think you can go wrong with Moon Pies, and as Hugs and Cookies says, it’s a great way to show someone you love them to the moon and back.
  4. Remember Dirt Cake? I think it’s necessary to eat this least once as a kid. And as an adult too. Thanks Snail Paced Transformations for bringing this timeless recipe back to life.
  5. Is there anything that you can’t add to a blondie? I think not. And Something Swanky proves this to be true with her recipe for Fluffer Nutter Blondies.

ohhhh, I’m so with ya! I remember how hard it was when each of my children turned 1! Every year is bittersweet and they are 11, 9, and 4. When my baby turns 5 in April, I will probably sob for days! Time goes by much too fast :(
