There are numerous studies out there that say no T.V. for toddlers younger than 2 years old. Being the good parents that we are, we decided to stick with this theory. Why does a baby or toddler need to watch T.V. after all? It's not like Eli is going to fall behind if he misses an episode of Grey's. Plus, we don't want to start any bad T.V. habits at such a young age, and we figured that it would get us to turn off the T.V. when no one is watching. Right?

There are numerous studies out there that say no T.V. for toddlers younger than 2 years old. Being the good parents that we are, we decided to stick with this theory. Why does a baby or toddler need to watch T.V. after all? It’s not like Eli is going to fall behind if he misses an episode of Grey’s. Plus, we don’t want to start any bad T.V. habits at such a young age, and we figured that it would get us to turn off the T.V. when no one is watching. Our T.V. is in the living room/dining room/everyday living space, so it’s constantly on as background noise, sucking energy, and our paychecks with it.

So, what exactly do you do with a toddler with a broken leg, on a rainy day? Books? Check! Cars? Check! Coloring? Check? Blocks? Check! Now what? Yup, you guessed it, we have a few go-to YouTube videos marked as favorites, and Eli even asks for them by name. Now, I’m not sure if YouTube is considered T.V., but I figure it has to be a little bit better that just setting him in front of the boob-tube to watch Yo Gabba Gabba. These videos are only 2-3 minutes long, and we only watch one or two a day. So really, if you compare it to how much time we spend on other activities during the day, it’s almost like he never even watched them. Right?

As we find more that Eli likes, I’ll be adding them to his playlist, Eli’s Fav Vidoes.
