Thank You Journal
When I’m having a rough day, or things just don’t seem to be going my way, I often find myself in a downward spiral. I look at my life and find flaws in just about everyone. Let me tell you, this is not a healthy habit.
So when I find myself finding flaws in the way I put my socks on (I can’t believe I put the left sock on first. Stupid, stupid, stupid), I try to take stock of my life and focus on the things that I’m thankful for. It’s such a breath of fresh air, focusing on all of the wonderful things in my life.
Enter, the Thank You Journal
So, I’ve decided to start a new blog carnival. It’s called the Thank You Journal. Each week I’ll be posting a list, long or short, of the things that I’m thankful for. Somethings they will be life changing and sometimes they will just be things that I enjoy. But they will always be people, events or things that I’m blessed to have in my life.
I’d love it if you would join me in this. Each Thursday I’ll be posting my Thank You Journal, along with a linky for you to share your journal.
The Rules
It’s pretty simple really.
- Link with the permanent address to the post, not the address to your blog.
- Link back to this post (and add the button if you like).
- Visit other Thank You Journals, and comment. Every blogger is thankful for comments.
I hope you’ll join me.

What a great idea! We all go through that downward spiral when we’ve burned the toast (again) or left the windows open when the a/c is on (overnight). Doh! This is the perfect antidote to remind us that we’re human and we have a lot to be thankful for.
I love this idea. A friend and I send each other gratitudes. It used to be daily but after a year or so, we have fallen off the wagon. But I want back on!
Hey Alli, I think I’m going to join you on this one. It’s my first carnival… Do I paste the button at the end of my post and link it to your post in the comments section? Does it have to be on the same day, or the same week is OK?
Hi Allison,
I am so grateful for you…having not only the idea to start this, but also for bringing it to fruition. We can always use more gratitude in this world!
Alli-
I would love to guest post if you were still looking for people.
I haven’t participated yet in the Thank You Journal cuz I’ve been doing the Gratitude Community thru Ann Voskamp at http://aholyexperience.com but have kept up with reading your Thank You Journal posts!
P.S. – I couldn’t get the TYJ button to work but used your regular button on my blog. And, my Gratitude posts are at http://gracefull-living.blogspot.com
Blessings,
Amy
What an awesome idea!!! I’m new to all things blog related but I’m up for the challenge!
Blessings to you!

This is so great! It is amazing how when we stop to count our blessings instead of getting blinded by our trials how much joy we can have in our lives!! There is always so much to be thankful for, and as I look for all of the things in my life, I find more and more things that I don’t even think of as blessing that I should be more grateful for!
